Overview

Dictami is designed with privacy as a core principle. All audio processing happens entirely on your device — your voice recordings are never sent to any server, stored in any database, or shared with any third party.

Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. Specifically:

• Audio recordings are processed locally and deleted immediately after transcription
• Transcribed text is not retained by Dictami after insertion into your app
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting is transmitted
• No account or email is required to use the app

License Activation

When you activate a license key, the key is stored locally in your macOS Keychain. No activation servers are contacted; validation is performed offline.

Automatic Updates

Dictami uses Sparkle for updates. When checking for updates, Sparkle sends a request to dictami.com/appcast.xml that includes your macOS version and Dictami version number. No personally identifiable information is sent.
